Okay you guys. Right now, I'm terribly terribly terribly terribly terribly enamored of Stephen King's Dark Tower series. I'm an official "Tower Junkie" as they say.
This scififantasyhorrorwestern epic has been my companion for nearly two years. (I've been listening to the audio versions.) And in finishing up inks and tones for Roadsong 3, I blazed through the last two books in the series. (The ones I had been putting off reading, in fact.) And maybe it's that I took 2 years to read all 7 books, but it feels like the most epic of all epics I have ever read or attempted to read.
Seriously. I find that I still spend quite a bit of time thinking about these books. There's plenty of gunslinging and weirdness and the sort of inter-dimensional hijinks that I am a stone sucker for... but also a surprising amount of sentimentality. In the end, I'm having to admit that I'm really in love with all the characters. It's just so hard to choose a favorite.
Also, there is seriously no excuse for the lack of Dark Tower fanart around these parts. Having been reading these for the past two years, I don't have an answer to why I've barely talked about it or made fanart until now. Sometimes it's just not immediate with me.
$hit- your stuff is awesome...I have been looking for this kinda stuff for my story page. I got the cool turkey shakes while waiting for the final book- to the point I starded writing my own version as a fix.
love your stuff, do you do requests? I'd love your interpretation of these guys. [link]
I have listened to all the audiobooks about five times now, I guess that makes me a bigger junkie than Eddie. The dark tower is without any doubt the best Stephen King has written.
I love this series so much! I plan on doing some Dark Tower fanart in the near future. There isn't much good fanart of it around, but this is one of the great ones! Any possibility of making this one a print?
I also adore the Dark Tower series. Everyone should read it at least once in their lifetime, since it is full of different styles and is just epic. This is definitely something that does Roland justice. Great job.
I really love how sharp the contrast in this picture is. It really jumps out at you. And I agree, The Dark Tower is easily one of the best and most epic stories around.
